Christopher Blanding
Coach Blanding is a native of Sumter,
SC and a graduate of Shaw University where he played basketball and ran track
and cross country. Blanding started his coaching career as a
varsity assistant coach at Sumter High School under the leadership of Hall of
Fame Coach Bryon Kinney. He then served five seasons as an Assistant
Coach at Savannah State University. Coach Blanding spent the last
eight seasons as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Columbia High
School. Under his leadership, the Columbia program won four area
championships and played in four state regional tournaments. His
teams won 150 games and has had over fifty student-athletes play basketball at
the next level. Coach Blanding is in his first season with the JPII Boys Basketball program.
